Accessibility For Persons With Mobility Challenges

The congregation of Saint Charles King and Martyr Anglican Church has recently added lift capabilities to provide access for those visitors or members with mobility challenges.

A wheelchair lift has been installed at the entrance to the church and a seating area suitable for service participation for persons utilizing wheelchairs have been created within the Church. The Wheelchair lift will also accommodate persons utilizing a “walker” as a mobility aid.

The undercroft is the site of many parish activities such as “coffee hour” and various meetings and movies. A stairlift has been installed to add access from the parking lot level down to the entrance door for those who have difficulty navigating stairs.

The Vestry is in the process of developing a project to modify the restrooms to create better access to these areas as the final stage of an effort to make Saint Charles accessible to all.
